Subject: slavic folk music From: juliana pare@virtu.sar.usf.du Date: 08 Mar 97 - 11:25 PM Hello, I'm interested in finding web sites and real sites in and around Boston that have information about performances of Slavic folk music. Also, this is the first time I've visited this site and I'm very glad to find it I look forward to getting to know it and its visitors. Thanks. |

Subject: RE: slavic folk music From: alarose@ncwc.edu Date: 22 Mar 97 - 03:11 PM This is the sort of thing folk dancers sometimes know. Boston has (used to have) a bunch of groups. Don't have any names. Try the phone book, call dance studios? Good luck. |

Subject: RE: slavic folk music From: Bqarry Finn Date: 22 Mar 97 - 06:06 PM You might try these two sources for info, the Folk Song Society of Greater Boston (http://world.std.com/~fssgb/) or try the Folk Arts Center of N.E., 616-491-6084. Other places to try would be Folk Ats Network which publishes a great calendar every 2 months- call Passims 617-492-7679, they may have a site but I don't know it, also on Thursdays the Boston Globe puts out a calendar that has alot pretaining to folk happenings. Happy hunting |
