I am looking for the lyrics of a song named "Will you meet me tonight on the sore" It is sung by Maire Ni Chathasaigh. Does anybody know this song? Pejotka from Germany

I looked at "The Maid on the Shore" in the database, but it doesn't seem to be the right song (I know the air of the song Petjoka seeks, but not the words)

See if "Gay Spanish Maid" in DT is the right one. I've got an old Ed. McCurdy phono record version of it.

"Gay Spanish Maid" is Laws K16, and Laws notes 6 versions. Anothe good one is 9 verrses with music in MacEdward Leach's 'Folk Ballads & Songs of the Lower abrador Coast', #17.

The verses of "Gay Spanish Maid" are not quite the same but similar as in the song Will you meet me tonight on the shore by Maire Ni Chathasaigh. Because of my bad English language knowledge I could not understand the text of Maire s interpretation Now I have got the theme and the content of this wonderful song. Thank you again.
