Haven't seen Bernie's name for a while. He who wrote the wonderful "Man of the Earth" that Vin Garbutt covered.

Is he playing anywhere else?

I will check out his gig list and report back
Should be a good night we have always encouraged Bernie at Barnsley
He has other initiatives like a CD of his original tunes I believe ~ recall "Davy (Davy) you heart is wild your heart is free"

He seems to be a bit of loner spends time busking in Spain apparently, always been around has our Bernie, turned up at Saltburn FF year before last in a Wilsons singaround when I nearly forgot Bring us Barrel!

I have a confession...I sold Bernie my hurdy gurdy. He doesn't gig with it though! If you ask he has a c.d. featuring it.

Here is the clicky...

Bernie Parry's website

Thread starter (Sarah) note that you spelt Bernie's surname wrong. (Can anyone correct the thread title?)

Certainly interested in retrospective CDs. Why on earth I never purchased any of his vinyl, will never know :-(

Agree with you Ray about 'Davy'. The song needs a revival ! :-)

He played at the Red Bull in Stockport last year.
A charming skilful songwriter who captivated us from first to last song.
Everyone who was there has asked if we can have him back again, it was a magical evening from a rare and talented man. Bernie really is one of the best "Old School" singer song writers. I would recommend that you make the journey and treasure an evening with a man whose songs and words gently rock the walls while every heart fills with care and understanding.
Enjoy it, we certainly did.
Peter

Good to see Bernie's name on a club guest list again, it's been far too long.
Really looking forward to seeing him play live again, should be a great night.
Check out his new website too - it's really good.

But hey, please give the man his due and get his name spelt right!
