Growler (aka Simon Barlow) and I are organising a folk afternoon (singaround style) at the Tudely Oak pub at Tudely, near Tonbridge. The landlord, John, is very supportive and is likely to lay on some extra beers (although the range of beers as it stands is already quite good).

We've set a provisional date of Sunday, 20th May, intending it to run from about midday to late afternoon/early evening.

I've tried to avoid any clashes with other folk events, and to leave a breathing space both after the Sweeps Festival and before the Kentish Horse weekend.

Any feedback on who's likely to come, the suitability of the provisional date etc. would be useful.

Growler will also be posting soon with information on a folk and beer weekend at the Good Intent, Rochester, to be held in June.

Have popped it in the diary wot keeps us organised, just in case we decide not to go to Chippenham Folk Fest which is that weekend. It sounds like you've got the start of a good 'do'!!

I'll trace this thread but meanwhile, any chance of a Pub postcode for us that travels from afar?

It would, of course, have helped if I'd got the spelling right the first time! It's "Tudeley", not "Tudely".

Looks like the only way by train is into London Bridge and out again. It looks like a fair way from the station too!

errr? slightly confused with what's been posted above.

Will there be a session in tudely on the 20th of May? And the Good Intent - is that the one in West Farleigh? BTW for train folk tudely is near paddock wood (or tonbridge I suppose) - about two miles as the crow flies and three by road.

If so two sessions south of the medway must be some sort of record for the mid/westkent session desert that I inhabit.

Just a reminder: it's this Sunday (20th) from 12.30. The beer'll be good, the music'll be good and the atmosphere'll be good. If it's well-supported, this could become a more regular event.

In answer to your question, coel, it will be a mixed session and all are welcome: singers, musicians, those who just want to listen and even those who are only there for the beer and the atmosphere!
