Subject: Hi, I'm new here...
From: pirandello
Date: 04 Mar 07 - 09:04 AM

Hello, I've been hearing about this place here and there on other forums I frequent and thought it about time I paid a visit. My home is in Exeter in south-west England and I play a variety of stuff; blues, folk, bluegrass, faux-celtic.
I look forward to getting to know you.

Andrew

Welcome, from some guy in Laurel, Md USA. You'll find information on a large variety of topics, good conversation and lasting worldwide friendships in here, or at least I have in my time in The Cat. Kind of like what my Dad did with his ham radio back in the Stone Age, but with music and lyrics included in the deal. Hope to cross threads with you in the Forum or talk with you in Chat. Enjoy!

Hi Andrew, good to meet you.
I live on the east Coast of the US, came here about 11 years ago from Ireland.
I sing and write my own Music and perform Irish, Scottish and a very broad spectrum world Music due to my travel adventures through my Music Life and I am now trying to "learn" to sing and play Bluegrass (a lifetime ambition:). Hope you enjoy the Forum Andrew. I certainly do. Loads of really fine Folks here and those that aren't.. well you will catch on quick I think, you being from Exeter and all! *smile* The Good here cancels out the not so good everytime just like elsewhere in Cyberland/Life!.
Loads of Info, smart Folk and great Music.

Welcome
Jude (Mudcat student..*smile*)

welcome--i am a fifty-something female from northern california.
The mudcat has been a great resource for me for years I have
met many friends here. I play guitar and sing and also play
mandolin, bodhran, and nyckelharpa. I also work with a local
folk music society to host jams (and "open mikes") and present
concerts. I also organize a folk camp out every year at a camp
ground in the mountains.

i also am host of a radio show and have also been host of an
online jam room where we take turns singing and playing.

Andrew,

This is a great site. The conversation is open, free and anyone can say just about anything as long as it's not abusive. I've learned a lot about folk music from this forum and there are people here who really know lots about it. Don't be afraid to speak up if you disagree with anything that's being said. That's part of the fun.

She actually lives in the 'entertainment' area of Sydney, and I am further west, not near any beaches. There are a few other Ozcatters around here too. I'm sure you'll run across them.
