Hi folkies

Has anyone heard the new album "Black Water" By Kris Drever yet?
It has to be one of the best folk albums of recent years in my book.
Anyway, I'm assuming that some of you have and I'm hoping that someone has worked out the chords to some of the songs.

Went to a workshop with Kris. He uses a lot of partial chords up and down the neck, with open strings and doubled notes. He uses standard tuning. The structures he follows are from his jazz background with a trio which included a canny guitarist. Kris played string bass.

Yeah, I've seen him a couple of times at Sandy Bell's and was blown away by his guitar skills & rythm.

I'd really like the charts for Black water & Poor man's Son if you've got the time, cheers.
While I've got you though, I just got 'Lightweights & Gentlemen' through the post from the nice people at Footstompin'. just wanted to tell you how much I'm enjoying it.

I'd also appreciate the charts for "Black Water" and "Poor Man's Son" if you've got time. The lyrics and chart for "Harvest Gypsies" would also be great.

Great album by the way. Bought it from "Ayepod" so no info with the tracks. Maybe the CD has lyrics etc?

a tricky one. its more about voices than chords(there's only a couple in the verse but the root notes change a lot)
poor mans son is

riff-(anacrusis) then em em em d g g g d em em em d g g g g c c c c em em em em c g am b7 em em em.

and the chorus type bit is d g g g g c c g g g g g g c c g g c c c b7 em em g g c c c b7 em em em

all the d's are over f sharp and some of the b7's have an eflat on the root which makes them close to eflat half dim chords

Just come across Kris Drever and the 'Black Water' CD and have ordered a copy on the basis of what I have heard so far. Sounds great - but what instrument is 'Navigator' played on and what are the chords?
