Now that the sun is out again, spring is a lovely thing.
I had to drive on the turnpike through pouring rain this morning --
no fun at all.

In my neck of the woods it's a warm, clear night.

It's an opportunity to spend a few hours at my telescope. Amateur astronomy has been my main hobby since I was 11.

Weather-wise, it's been a lovely day. 21C. Shorts and ice-cream! :)

I'm near Boston at the moment.
The radio news says that
while the region is now drought-free thanks to the rain,
Greater Boston's water supply is still low.

Woodpeckers showed up a few weeks back. I've spotted Pileated, Downy and Red bellys pecking on everything like crazy, including the fascia outside our bedroom quite early in the morning.

The swallows are now weeks overdue here, though they are reported early in some parts of the UK.

Steady rain, to continue for several days.
Dreary for walking or driving about, of course;
but the green growing things, of which there are so many,
are thirsty for more rain.
Just before the rainstorm, the lawn got mowed.
One of my favorite scents in the world is
the smell of freshly trimmed green lawn grass.

Went east to visit friends on the edge of the everglades yesterday, turned up the drive and flushed a large flock of robins from the grass. Cardinal couples are starting to show up. It's definitely spring down here.

keberoxu, I have a layer system on the bed this time of year, a sheet with a thermal blanket and a quilt on top. Last week I added an extra small quilt to the sandwich, but last night I had to peel it back to just the thermal and the sheet. Until late May this will be the routine. The sweaters were aired out and put away several weeks ago. (North Texas)

The green trees hereabouts are still bare.
But the little trees with red leaves have buds opening
and the little red leaflets bursting out.

We had one of those days where it starts out sunny and warm
and then the temperature takes a nosedive.
I started out in short sleeves, and
ended up throwing on my winter coat over them.
We're in for about three nights near freezing.
Previously we had warmer nights and
it was starting to smell like spring
as well as sound like spring.

Still bare trees at this point. There are jonquils and daffodils coming out though.

Another spring happening,The Masters, concluded yesterday with gallery favorite Rory MclIroy breaking through and winning his first green jacket for a career grand slam with perhaps the most dramatic finish I can remember. The beautiful Augusta National golf course was again showing off it's spring colors.

More signs of Spring- Blue Jays are flitting about in the cypresses out back and engaging in noisy battles with the squirrels in the oaks out front. Also, tilapia beds are appearing on the perimeters of the local ponds.

The Canada geese are back;
I could hear them flying overhead today,
and I have seen three of them on a nearby bank.
There are songbirds around as well, I don't know what sort,
but I can certainly hear them singing.

Well, the mud is frozen today,

The vernal equinox is yet to come,
but in some places there has been weather that can only be described as
springlike, usually resulting in a lot of mud.
We had mud last week; the mud is freezing today,
and we may have snow tonight.

It may be early for spring, but it would be welcome here.

Spring is being rushed here..(north of Wash. DC). My azaleas are about 2 weeks early, overlapping the daffodil season. I'm expecting a long, hot Summer.
