Hiya Ritchie :)

I understand you are looking for a song about this guy poring whiskey down the sink. Well, I don't have the song version, but I do have the written version if that might be of any help.

Whisky Galore!

I had eighteen bottles of whisky in my cellar and was told by my wife to empty the contents of each and every bottle down the sink, or else.
I said I would, and proceeded with the unpleasant task; I withdrew the cork from the first bottle and poured the contente down the sink, with the exception of one glass, which I drank. I extracted the cork from the second bottle and did likewise, with the exception of one glass, which I drank. I then withdrew the cork from the third bottle and poured the whisky down the sink, which I drank. I pulled the cork from the fourth bottle down the sink and poured the cork of the next and drank one sink out of it, and then threw the rest down the glass. I pulled the sink out of the next glass and poured the cork down the bottle. I corked the sink with the glass, bottled the drink and drank the pour. When I had everything emptied, I steadied the house with one hand, counted the glasses, corks, bottles and sinks with the other, which were 29, and as the houses came by, I counted them again, and finally had all the houses in one bottle, which I drank.
I'm not under the affluence of incohol, as some tinkle peep I am. I am not half as thunk as you might drink, I fool so feelish I don't know who is me, and the drunker I stand here the longer I get. Oh, me.

Hope there's not too many spelling mistakes in it (I'm not english so I have an excuse :)), and it's deliberatly squished together to give that feel of things going faster and faster and finally spinning, like they probably would after eighteen bottles of that stuff :)

Best of luck with finding the sung version, and I'll ask around over here and see what I can do :).

Becky :)

Becky,

If you could see my smile... my face is lit up as bright as a Belisha Beacon.

As Andy Williams used to say " Almost There !!"

Thanksshh...hic.

Ritchie

Say Ritchie, what's a Belisha beacon? I know that from a song by Leon Rosselson, about your own Watts tower builder, but I never knew what it was.
Blessings,
Barbara

Well Barbara, my bonny lass, so glad you asked.A Belisha beacon ,well there was one on each side of the pavement at a zebra crossing just to warn the approaching traffic. The best way to describe one was it was like a big orange soccer ball (a football really)on top of a black & white hooped stick and the ball continually flashed on and off or perhaps it was off and on I could never tell which.

Reminiscing Ritchie

Ritchie: Maybe we should tell them about pelican crossings as well.

Makes me feel old 'cos I remember when Belisha Beacons first came out. No I don't that's a lie, what I meant was - I remember when they first made them flash. Roundabout the early fifties I think. There was this cartoon in The Daily Worker that said words to the effect that France spends so many millions on road safety and all we get is blinkin' beacons.

Bert.
