Subject: Last Of The Widows From: woodsie Date: 15 Mar 07 - 03:18 AM I've had this song going round and round in my head for the last couple of years. I've done a search on google but can't find the lyric or chords - anyone know them? What's annoying me is I only know these three words. Jez Lowe didn't do it when I saw him last year, even though I suspected it was one of his, I wasn't 100% sure, so I didn't want to shout out a request. It would have been embarracing if he had replied "That's Ralph McTell's"! |
Subject: RE: Last Of The Widows From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 15 Mar 07 - 03:39 AM It is a Jez Lowe song. The words are posted in this post: Help: Jez Lowe is coming to town - Lyr Add: THE LAST OF THE WIDOWS (Jez Lowe) Mick |
Subject: RE: Last Of The Widows From: A Wandering Minstrel Date: 15 Mar 07 - 07:55 AM A beautiful and haunting song. You can hear Jez perform it on his Live at the Davy Lamp album |
Subject: RE: Last Of The Widows From: John Routledge Date: 15 Mar 07 - 08:10 AM I was 8 years old when the accident happened and remember the event and aftermath vividly. The song captures the accident and following events perfectly. It is one of Jez's very best songs. |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Last Of The Widows (Jez Lowe) From: Susanne (skw) Date: 23 Mar 07 - 11:53 AM Don't know the song, but I'll try and request it tonight when Jez is playing in Segeberg, Germany, and I'll be there. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Last Of The Widows (Jez Lowe) From: Susanne (skw) Date: 24 Mar 07 - 11:11 AM He didn't do it last night either, but it's on the CD I bought, Live at the Davy Lamp. Otherwise the concert was great, with only Jez and Kate Bramley because the rest of the Bad Pennies couldn't make it. Very good songs, great musicianship, very nice people both of them. If you haven't heard it, Kate's voice is certainly impressive. And she even said she looks in on Mudcat once in a while. |
