Subject: New tunes From: GUEST,hacksawbob Date: 17 Mar 07 - 05:32 PM Hi there, long time no post 'catters My Wife has written a few tunes and we have the sheet music. We want to release the music for other people to play. Can I put the scanned sheet music on the web and link to it in a new thread in "new tunes"? |

Subject: RE: New tunes From: Stewart Date: 17 Mar 07 - 05:55 PM Yes, you could do that. You might make the title of the thread more descriptive (what tunes? whose tunes? etc.) I prefer to see tunes in abc format. You can use a program such as ABCMus to play the abc file and also make a midi file. To post on Mudcat you could just post the abc with the following statement: Copy the abc file and paste into Concertina.net, then click on 'convert' to get a score and a midi file. I use Noteworthy Composer to write the score and then convert it into an abc file with abc2nwc, but it's not hard to write an abc file directly. Anyway, I always am interested in new tunes. Subject: RE: New tunes From: Joe Offer Date: 17 Mar 07 - 07:53 PM Hi, Bob - if you're posting a number of tunes of your own composition, it's preferable that you keep them together, preferably in one thread. You can use this one, if you like - I can modify the thread title to suit. -Joe Offer- joe@mudcat.org |

Subject: RE: New tunes From: GUEST Date: 18 Mar 07 - 05:09 AM OK here are the links to the images on My flikr page. Please feel free to amend the title to suit Max. I am not familiar with the naming protocol here yet. These are the "large files" The originals are even bigger and suitable for broadband only but would be better for printing. Feedback to h4cks@yahoo.co.uk Some of the Guitar chords are tricky and I haven't quite mastered the quick changes, but they are well worth it if you can get your fingers 'round them. We play the first three together as a set. Nula's Jig and The Builder's Craic Marlowe's Reel The Hard Shoulder |
