Need One More Date Tacoma/Seattle Area

Subject: Need One More Date Tacoma/Seattle Area

Time's getting short. I've scoured the web and pursued every lead friends have given me, but I'm still short one date in June for a Seattle trip. In particular; FRIDAY - Jun 21, 2007.

I would like to find something closer to Tacoma, I have to be in Graham on Sat morning for the Tacoma Highland Games.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Pubs? Restaurants? House or Small venue concerts for that Friday night?

Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

They've been talking about Bellingham in another thread--maybe someone up there would like to set something up? PM Deckman and ask if he knows anyone up there. It's about 120 miles north of Seattle.

BTW--it isn't as much work to get to as Wenatchee, which is on the east side of the Cascades from Everett.

I'm in the U.K so have very limited knowledge. Try the website for Steve and Kristi Nebel, they live in Tacoma and may be able to advise of something

You might check out Cafe Luna, on Vashon Island... they do some live Fridays- pretty eclectic, small room, generous crowds... "listeners". (I'm assuming you tried the Antique Sandwich in Tacoma.) Good luck! ^..^

The Tractor Tavern doesn't do acoustic music on weekends. I've contacted all the others listed here, too. Still waiting on responses from a few.

Thanks y'all. This has been most helpful and I very much appreciate the help.

While I found it difficult to find all the music venues in the area, I did find a lot of musicians - in fact, I think if you live in Seattle/Tacoma area you HAVE to have a myspace profile!

Hi Jed,

You might try the Mandolin Cafe in Tacoma. They don't pay, but I hear it's a nice place (haven't been there myself, but there is an Irish session that plays there).

Looking forward to your visit and house concert.

Cheers, S. in Seattle

Thanks Stewart. I did look 'em up. They're booked on the night in question. I have a few irons in the fire though ... I'm still confident I'll get something worthwhile. I am really looking forward to the house concert at your place. It should be the icing on the cake! My wife is coming with me and we will visit with some family while we're there.

I'm heading out shortly for a festival this weekend.

... still comin' up empty for Friday June 22. I may have to turn over a few more rocks next week. Thanks to all for your helpful suggestions, though. I'll have a longer list to start from next time ... and I'll start earlier!

Well, then if nothing else, maybe someone will throw you a hoot! They're good at that up there! Slap a salmon on the barbie and there you go. . .

Thanks to all for helping with this effort. With your help I've managed to book all the dates I have available in Seattle for this trip. I truly appreciate your assistance. I am looking forward to the trip and I hope to meet all the Mudcatters who can make it out to one of these shows.

My wife and I are extending the tour a bit to visit with her brother and family while we're there and I'm looking forward to that too. I don't get to the northwest often but I always love it.

I'll post the show dates below.
