I haven't heard the song, and there are many songs using the phrase 'night on eart' by many groups. It would help narrow the search. |

I listened to a 30-second sound sample at shopping.yahoo.com/music, and heard about the first 1 1/2 verses. The tune sounds like ROSIN THE BEAU. I copied the rest of the lyrics from someone's blog: A NIGHT ON EARTH (Tony Duggins & The Tossers) Well, tonight is our last night on earth, my friends, So let's sleep with the stars as our ceiling, And kiss me one time and please make it good; It could be our last night until morn. Well, I guess I know that I'll always be The one and only one for me, But I hope this once we can dance this dance. What's to be seen now together we'll see. Oh, the train it rolls hard on the cold steel track, But that's not the way that I'm goin'. I will step on a dove, have her fly me above And freighter me back into home. Well, tonight at the bottom of the deepest lake, There's a pillow to bed down and slumber. Just to falter our crowns red beard, blow the man down And let him come down to the heather. Well, tonight is the last night on earth, my friends, So let's save this together forever, An' all pause an' yield, burn life through this field, Tonight's stars, let's just spend them together. Oh, low lie the fields of Athenry Where once we watched the small free birds fly. Our love was on the wing; we had dreams and songs to sing. Now it's lonely 'round the fields of Athenry. [Recorded by The Tossers, on their album "Long Dim Road," Thick Records #69, 2000.] |
