The Seven Stars , Knowl Hill , 31st March 2007

A superb Sold Out concert to celebrate Maidenhead's Thirty Fifth Birthday with Les Barker , Martin Carthy and Mike Waterson .
We kicked off with a half hour of assorted tunes from the Folk Club Scratch band - Fiddle x 2, Melodeon , Concertina , Mandolin , Whistle and guitar x 2 .
Les did two sets , and was - - LES - In other words , Bloody funny !
Martin and Mike did alternate songs for their bits , First time I have seen Mike in a club since Hitchin in 1964 !
All in all a Cracking Good evening !

Back to Normality next week with a singers Night on Thursday !

Absolutely wonderful - Derek and I were lucky enough to get the last 2 tickets for a magical evening. Les made me (and most of the rest of the audience) cry with laughter, and Mike and Martin reminded me of how I was captivated by the Watersons and Carthy when I first heard them....

Congratulations to Maidenhead Folk Club on your 35th anniversary.
