Are you tired of the hamster dance?

The Mudcat introduced me to the Hamster dance which I promptly showed to my 17 year old son. His friends began to e-mail it around a few days later.

My son is returning the favor. For those who no longer wish to be addicted to the Hamster Dance there is an alternative site, click here. The site requires a "plug-in" called Shockwave that you can access for free download from the site.

Enjoy this you hamster haters!

Since it be close to Easter and all, those tiring of Hampsterdance might want to check out "jesusdance.com". Warning, might be offensive to your sense of piety.

Heh heh heh ... I sent the Hamsterdance URL to my very best girl who works on the trading floor of a major natural gas transmission company. She found the hamsters easily and was slightly amused but ... no sound. Try as hard as she could to adjust the volume button, she couldn't hear anything. I suggested she check her sound mixer window and see if the WAV feature was muted. Eureka! She disabled the mute, turned on the hamsters and serenaded the entire trading floor at full volume. Fortunately, she's very good at what she does and still gets to work there every day.

If you go here, you can learn a bit more about how the page came to be, as well as various updates.

And you didn't know this? Katmyluv, I'm so ashamed of myself for not telling you sooner........like 9 or 10 years sooner.....LOL........

The song is original for the movie by the great and insane Roger Miller.   It was called (as I recall) "Dedodedo" and I can't help but think he'd enjoy having it be the Hamster Tune as well!!!

Oh, I know, Spaw! I was hoping you'd see this, today. We didn't have youtube back when we first learned about the hamster dance, remember? Oo-de-lally-eh is one of Morgan's favourite songs, so we went looking for it on youtube, today. Listened to it in French, Russian, Arabic, Catalan, and German as well as the original with Roger Miller (love his stuff!)

You should have seen the Kid with his baritone uke imitating the minstrel "rooster" then foxy Robin and the bear Little John, all the while strumming as fast as he could on the uke and TRYING to make chords with his left hand. It's the first time he's tried chords, really connected all the parts AND he was hopping around, dancing whilst doing it. So much fun to watch him and play with him.

The link to "the original" still works, but goes through a redirect to a new location.

I made the mistake of clicking on the 'Interactive Dance'.... Hamsterobics!!

I now have this insane urge to find a small tail and afix it to my hinderparts so that it wobbles like the ones in the third row.

Then I must find some jam and see if it really doesn't wobble like jelly.
