Charles "Cow Cow" Davenport also recorded BUCKWHEAT CAKES. Here's what I have been able to transcribe from several sound samples:

I'm glad I found this thread with the buckwheat cake song that plays in my head - I can picture Darlene singing it on the Mickey Mouse Club show back in the 50's. funny how some songs stick with you!
