Possibly not the same song, but there is this:

Catalog data at Indiana University Sheet Music Collections:
    Title: BUCKWHEAT CAKES
    Composer: Taylor, Tell
    Composer: Sloop, Fred
Publisher: Jerry Vogel Music Co. Inc.
    Place of publication: New York
    Date of publication: 1939
    Call Number: M1 .D48 Box: 136 Item: 060
Performance Medium: Piano, Voice and Chords
First Line: Ebenezer Wilson was an epicure, and a very funny one
Chorus First Line: Buckwheat cakes, cookin' on the griddle, buckwheat cakes
    Genre: Popular song
    Subject term: Food
On an album by Doctor Souchon, "Early New Orleans Minstrel Days," he sings these lyrics (taken from a sound sample):
Ebenezer Wilson was an epicure, and a very funny one was he.
He never cared for chit'lin's or for turkey hash; he never eat a fricasee.
Ebenezer never cared for chicken pie; he never....
Charles "Cow Cow" Davenport also recorded BUCKWHEAT CAKES. Here's what I have been able to transcribe from several sound samples:
    [VERSE]...
He never cared for rabbit, neither 'possum.
He never cared for chicken, neither 'coon.
All he wanted you to bring him in, morning, night and noon:

[CHORUS] Buckwheat cakes steaming on the griddle,
Buckwheat cakes, Lordy(?), ain't they fine?
    Buckwheat cakes, fried in butter,
Sweeter than the melon on the watermelon vine.
Buckwheat cakes, fry 'em to a ...
Buckwheat cakes, then bring 'em in to me.
    You can have ev'rything....

Perhaps more to the point, I found this unattributed quote in a blog:
    Buckwheat cakes, your buckwheat cakes,
    Along with crispy bacon,
    Buckwheat cakes, your buckwheat cakes
Are what set my heart to achin'.
And another quote from a customer at Amazon.ca attributes this to Burl Ives, but the customer could not locate the song:
Buckwheat Cakes, along with crispy bacon.
Yes it is your buckwheat cakes that sets my heart to achin'.

"Buckwheat cakes, buckwheat cakes, along with crispy bacon; yes, it is your
buckwheat cakes that sets my heart to achin'. It can't be your chocolate
cake or your Irish stew, it can't be your chocolate cake that makes me fond
of you. It's buckwheat cakes, buckwheat cakes, along with crispy bacon. Yes
it is your buckwheat cakes that sets my heart to achin'. What about my
girlish ways and my perty hair? What about my girlish ways or maybe you
don't care! No, it ain't your girlish ways or your perty hair, no it ain't
your girlish ways that makes me set 'n stare. It's buckwheat cakes,
buckwheat cakes, along with crispy bacon. Yes it is your buckwheat cakes
that sets my heart to achin'. How about my friendly smile 'specialy for you?
How about my friendly smile, I see you're smilin' too! No it ain't your
friendly smile, or your dimpled chin; no it ain't your friendly smile that
brings me back again. It's buckwheat cakes, buckwheat cakes because I'm only
human; I just love the buckwheat cakes made by a perty woman, I just love
the buckwheat cakes made by a perty woman!"

BUCKWHEAT CAKES
(Taylor/Sloop)

VERSE: Ebeneezer Wilson was an epicure; a very funny one was he.
He never cared for steak for breakfast; he never cared for fricassee
He never cared for rabbit, neither 'possum; he never cared for chicken, neither 'coon.
All he wanted you to bring him in, morning, night and noon:

CHORUS 1: Buckwheat cakes steaming on the griddle,
Buckwheat cakes, Lordy, ain't they fine?
Buckwheat cakes, fried in butter,
Sweeter than the melon on the watermelon vine.
Buckwheat cakes, fry 'em to a frazzle,
Buckwheat cakes, then bring 'em in to me.
You can have ev'rything in this wide, wide world [§]
But your ever-lovin' buckwheat cakes.

CHORUS 2: [Same as Chorus 1 down to §, then:]
'Cause I'm dreamin' 'bout 'em, screamin' 'bout 'em,
Fried in butter, see 'em flutter,
See 'em comin', see I'm runnin',
Hurry, baby; pass that gravy.
All you seven, come you heaven.
Pop one open; see I'm chokin'.
Hurry, rascal; pass that 'lasses.
Flip 'em, flop 'em, love to sop 'em,
Ever-lovin' buckwheat cakes.

CHORUS 3: [Same as Chorus 1.]

As sung by Jim Towel accompanied by Cow Cow Davenport on piano on "Cow Cow Davenport – The Accompanist (1924-1929)" Document Records, 2005.
Originally released as Brunswick 7060, 1928.

Oh, good, oldhippie! So glad to see you found this! Thanks to you, I've had Buckwheat Cakes stuck in my head for the last 24 hours. Tried to get rid of it by sending it to my brother. He sent back this one
