BS: Why did the T. Rex cross the road?

CHICAGO, Illinois (Reuters) -- Tiny bits of protein extracted from a 68-million-year-old dinosaur bone have given scientists the first genetic proof that the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex is a distant cousin to the modern chicken.

But does T. Rex taste like chicken? that is the burning question. Hopefully they will someday be able to accumulate enough protien for the taste test.

Why did it cross the road?
Because it was stapled to a T-rex!!!

Puts a whole new light on the idea of "T-rex caccitore"...

Or chicken-fried T-rex...

I see a movie here...

"Revenge of the Chickens" - A mysterious series of genetic mutations at a chicken farm results in chickens that transform overnight into rampaging T-Rex's. Bursting out of their overcrowded and filthy wire cages, they go forth to wreak vengeance on the poultry industry and its customers!

I'm laughing at the ads for that new animated movie where the T. rex is chasing a little boy into a corner, where the rex can't reach him.

The villain yells for the rex to grab the boy, and the rex roars something back that translates into, "I have a big head . . . and little arms!", while waving his useless little forelegs. Cracks me up.

...and the rampaging T-rexes search out all the ethanol plants 'cause that's where all the corn went. After eating it all, they all head for Iowa where the rest of the corn in standing in the field. After devouring all that corn, and trampling the field of deams all to hell, they all die of starvation.

Donald Trump makes billions collecting T-rex bones. After that, every museum in the world is able to buy it's own T-rex skeletons from him.

Trump is asked how much he made on the deal??

His answer, "I don't know exactly, but it's not chicken feed!!

That's 'Meet the Robinsons' - a film that Limpit loved and I slept through - except for that little snippet! It gets used a lot around here for when someone (Limpit) wants something she can't be bothered to get up and get and wants me to pass to her.

The same premise of time travel was used in an episode of the UK SciFiSitCom 'Red Dwarf'. Pete the sparrow gets in the way of the time paddle converter and devolves millions of years into a T Rex, wreaking havoc about the space ship.

To leave footprints that some idjit would mistake for the prints of a giant human, thereby supposedly proving that dinosaurs and humans existed at the same time. Old Rex has been snickering about it ever since.

With 10,000 extant species of dinosaurs to choose from, funny how T. rex is closer to a chicken than anything else.

I'm looking forward to a Theropod Tikka Massala tomorrow night after a few ales.

One has only to look at a nekkid de-feathered chicken to have figured out some kind of dinosaur was lurking in the avian gene pool.

Recently I went to Grand Island Nebraska to view the sandhill cranes. I believe cranes are among the more primitive birds. Take a look at these images

http://www.google.com/search?as_q=sandhill+crane+image&hl=en&num=10&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_qdr=all&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&as_rights=&safe=images

and ask yourself how far a crane is removed from certain dinosaurs.

"Although other theropods rivaled or exceeded T. rex in size, it was the largest known tyrannosaurid and one of the largest known land predators, measuring over 13 metres (43 feet) in length and up to 7.5 tons in weight."

I think the T. Rex has the right of way- and the left, and center...

Look up the story "The Calibrated Alligator" about the growth potential of reptiles and their potential as food. And yes, alligator does taste like chicken.

One morning, I was on my way to my job [at 5 AM God help me] and saw a Rhode Island Red crossing Ocean Avenue. At that point, it struck me that the real reason the chicken crossed the road was to avoid being the center of attention at a Santoria sacrificial ceremony.

Trex lurking in chickens - moose lurking in otters - ; The Science Fiction book 'Mirabile' is a coolection of tales about what happens when space colonists fold "extra" dna into their stock in order to save space - and then loose the guidebook.

among other things - the Kangeroo Rex

Has anyone postulated a Dino flu akin to a bird flu that helped wipe them off the evolutionary map? No doubt is was part of a number of things with the climate being at the top of the list as well as oxygen counts becoming half of what they had been.

What! Nobody's brought in Shatner and "Star T-Rex"?
"Spock, Spock, Spock, SPA-A-A-ACK!"

But Roy Acuff already did it all up as a Country Song:

"I saw the Rex on the highwa-a-a-ay,
But I didn't hear nobody pray......"

According to Gregor Mendel, the question should actually be, "What do you get when you cross a road with a T-Rex?"

This from the road itself afterwards--"T-Rex! You've crossed me for the last time!"

....Not to be confused, of course, with "Gregor Mendel! You've crossed me for the last time!"

Actually it stood by the side of the road and hitched a ride.....WAIT! that was Dinah-SHORE that wanted to see the USA in a Cheverolet. Sorry!
(Gawd! I'm dating my self. But then talking about T-Rexes, I'm probably Carbon-14 dating myself.)......
