I used to drink in that pub 10+ years ago and even worked it into a short story published in Interzone in 1999... chiefly because of the confluence of road, canal, rail and air (planes stack for Heathrow overhead). |
25 Apr 07 - 01:16 PM (#2035509) Subject: RE: Folk at Three Horseshoes, Winkwell, Her From: The Unicorn Man Nice one Nick. I will read that story with intrest and Ross will write a song about it I should think. Anytime you are in the area come and say hello. There will alway be a Folkaholick of some kind playing and singing in the pub from now on, last Thursday 8.30pm til 11.00pm and last Sunday 4.00pm til 7.00pm until we get chucked out. Derick and I were asked not to sing anymore at The Rose and Crown in St Albans the other month. It may have something to do with me spending the three hours before hand at The Lower Red Lion. A REAL REAL ALE PUB. But that is another story. TTFN |

Sometimes pubs get funny during the festive season. I'd've thought it should be okay in the bar area that you use. But if you haven't already done so, it might be worth checking. -- Hamish |

06 Feb 08 - 02:01 PM (#2255160) Subject: RE: Folk at Three Horseshoes, Winkwell, Her From: The Unicorn Man Hello Ross. Sorry we where ignoring you. "Who said that?" Anyway Derick Jan and I had a great time. No new players but some locals SAID they would come back and bring some friends. So that sounds good. Just have to come up with some dates for the folk weekend. I thought if we have on a Saturday that the Sunday is a normal session day it will make it into a weekend. The end of May sounds about right unless you know of any festivals on at that time. Mal said we can use the big car park for campers and caravans with a few small tents on the bank. See you tonight at Barton, then we can get it in the next Unicorn Mag. TTFN. |
07 Feb 08 - 04:56 AM (#2255730) Subject: RE: Folk at Three Horseshoes, Winkwell, Her From: Ross Cheers Mart - no problems Did you know end of May is bank holiday weekend, so you could have the two days on the Sunday/Monday I think Herts show is normally Sat/Sun in Redbourn - not sure if there are any carnivals on that weekend or festivals |
