Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs
I COULDN'T SPELL !!*@! (W. Thompson)
(Verse 1)
E
Drew a mustache on your picture
A                  E
Threw your ring away
A
I'd a wrote you a letter
E
But I couldn't spell !!*@!
E              B7         E
And that's all I got to say
E              B7     E
That's all I got to say

(Verse 2)
When I found out you'd been untrue
Not a minute did I delay
I'd a wrote you a letter
But I couldn't spell !!*@!
And that's all I got to say
That's all I got to say
(Bridge)

A
I even went to where we used to go
E
Outside a town
F#
I found the tree where we carved our names
B7
And chopped that jive thing down

(Back to E progression)
(Verse 3)
I burned the tie you gimme
Never dug it anyway
I'd a wrote you a letter
But I couldn't spell !!*@!
And that's all I got to say
That's all I got to say
(Bridge again)

I'm gonna do everything I can
To get even with you
I started today when I wrote your name down
In thirty four telephone booths
(Verse 4)
I burned the tie you gimme
Never dug it anyway
I'd a wrote you a letter
But I couldn't spell !!*@!
And that's all I got to say
That's all I got to say

That wasn't difficult at all.

The Pharaohs And Sam The Sham - WOOLY BULLY Lyrics

(Domingo Samudio)
Uno, dos, one, two, tres, quatro
Matty told Hatty about a thing she saw.
Had two big horns and a wooly jaw.
Wooly bully, wooly bully.
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

Hatty told Matty, "Let's don't take no chance.
Let's not be L-seven, come and learn to dance."
Wooly bully, wooly bully
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

Matty told Hatty, "That's the thing to do.
Get you someone really to pull the wool with you."
Wooly bully, wooly bully.
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

[L-seven" = the letter "L" and the number "7". When typed, they form a rough square (L7), so the lyrics mean "let's not be square."]

Also, here's YouYube clip of a collage of drawings and the audio of another Sham and The Pharaohs' song that I like:

"I touched up some of the pictures with Photoshop and colorized some as well. This is the 45 r.p.m. version of the song. I think this is the best version".

Btw, in my opinion, the comments that viewers post about these videos are usually interesting reading.

LI'L RED RIDING HOOD (Ronald Blackwell)

Owoooooooo!
Who's that I see walkin' in these woods?
Why, it's Little Red Riding Hood.
Hey there Little Red Riding Hood,
You sure are looking good.
You're everything a big bad wolf could want.
Listen to me.

Little Red Riding Hood
I don't think little big girls should
Go walking in these spooky old woods alone.
Owoooooooo!

What big eyes you have,
The kind of eyes that drive wolves mad.
So just to see that you don't get chased
I think I ought to walk with you for a ways.

What full lips you have.
They're sure to lure someone bad.
So until you get to grandma's place
I think you ought to walk with me and be safe.

I'm gonna keep my sheep suit on
Until I'm sure that you've been shown
That I can be trusted walking with you alone.
Owoooooooo!

Little Red Riding Hood
I'd like to hold you if I could
But you might think I'm a big bad wolf so I won't.
Owoooooooo!

What a big heart I have-the better to love you with.
Little Red Riding Hood
Even bad wolves can be good.
I'll try to be satisfied just to walk close by your side.
Maybe you'll see things my way before we get to grandma's place.

Little Red Riding Hood
You sure are looking good
You're everything that a big bad wolf could want.
Owoooooooo! I mean baaaaaa! Baaa?

Here's a comment that CanadaAstro posted to the YouTube video comment section for the L'l Red Riding Hood video:

"Nice Job! Sam the Sham lives on....where is the Ring Dang
Doo?"

I wondered the same thing. And so... here's a Youtube video link to Sam The Sham And Pharoahs' Ring Dang Doo:

"A man is looking for a 'ring dang doo' whatever the heck that is. Hope he finds it.
I edited the audio file, increased the vocals slightly and made the bass foot stomping good.
Good pop rock. You won't be disappointed."

All I want is a ring dang doo
Well! I've been all over this big old world, hey
Looking for a ring dang do
I've fallen in love with a thousand girls, yeah
Looking for a ring dang do
I've got a mojo bag and a little voodoo
But I ain't never found a ring dang doo

Well! I was a' down in New Orleans
Looking for a ring dang do
I fell in love with a girl in tight blue jeans
Looking for a ring dang do
Said I can't stay though my love is true
I've got to keep a lookin' for a ring dang do
Yeaaahhh! Ring Dang Do
Where are you?
What are you?

From Mexico to the Phillipines, yeah
Looking for a ring dang do
Well! I've drunk with peasants and I've dined with kings
Looking for a ring dang do
But I ain't never found a single clue
I've got to keep a lookin' for that ring dang do

Well! People call me crazy every single day
Yeah! Looking for a ring dang do
But I don't care what the people may say
No! Looking for a ring dang do
I don't know what it looks like or what it can do
I keep looking for that ring dang do

Ring dang ring dang ring dang do
Ring dang ring dang ring dang do
You can have your gold and your diamonds too
All I want is a ring dang doo
Ring dang ring dang ring dang do
Ring dang ring dang ring dang do
Where are you?

Thanks so much Sorcha. You never let us down. We looked on the web but could find lots of titles but no lyrics. Think we started something here. All the closet Sam the Shammers are coming out. Where's Richard Bridge?

Regards The Pharaohs "Little Red Riding Hood" - a great version was recently covered by a group called 'Bowling for Soup' it's a more 'revved up' version leaning towards 'punkish' but it's still really good - in fact I think I even prefer it over the original.

If you can't get it anywhere else - Bowling For Soup perform it live in (at the end of, maybe?) the film "Cursed": A slightly off-beat werewolf movie which is good for quite a few laughs as it parodies a few werewolf stereotypes.

And do you recall the same song; only this time the Pharaoh's version - being so brilliantly used in a Bruce Willis movie: 'Striking Distance' where the serial killer uses it as his signature tune to harass and terrify imminent victims and Tom Hardy (Willis) - the serial killer played superbly by the very underrated robert Pastorelli
