Kathryn, type the word Hard in the DT search in the upper right hand corner and it will be the first selection you find. If you are seeking the Civil War version of SC Foster's Hard Times Come Again No More, dealing with Hard Tack (a type of biscuit issued to the troops) I have those words available also.

Have you tried "hardtack" as one word? I seem to recall a song titled Hardtack and Biscuits (or Gravy). I'll browse my collection, see if I remember rightly.--John
