27 Apr 07 - 01:49 PM (#2037312) Subject: BS: Richard Hearne, Mr Pastry From: GUEST,harvey andrews On BBC Radio 4 at 11.30 am on May 1st there is a programme on Richard Hearne, otherwise known as Mr Pastry. I wrote a song for him on his retirement which will be featured in the prog, as will a short chat with me about him. The reason I am posting this is to ask that if you enjoy this prog, please phone the Beeb on 08700 100 222 and say so, as it's getting harder and harder for producers to sell progs like this to the radio due to the ever increasing pressure to dumb down. And no, I don't personally know the producer. He found my song by serendipity and I've just chatted with him on E mail about the problems faced by producers today. April 19th 2007 |

He also had a child with learning problems like me, and did a lot of charitable work. 28 Apr 07 - 10:42 AM (#2037942) Subject: RE: BS: Richard Hearne, Mr Pastry From: melodeonboy The house that he lived in (the one near you, John) had been derelict for some time before he bought it and did it up. The previous occupants were two farm labouring families (it was divided in two at that time), one of which was my grandfather's family. My mother was born in that very house. |
