BS: Soap-box Greaseman

Anyone out there ever heard of the term "Soap-Box Greaseman" before?
I've taken it from another thread titled "The Honest Working Man" and it is mentioned in one of the verses that goes as follows:

4. They cross the Bay of Fundy, they reach her ona Monday:
Do you see my brother Angus? Now tell me if you can.
He was once a soap-box greasman, but now he is a policeman
Because he could not earn a living as an honest working man.
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks
