07 May 07 - 03:18 AM (#2045040) Subject: The power of Song - Jacob From: Jim Lad I had the honour of listening to a collection of songs today. All but two were written by our very own Alba. Of the other two, one was a beautiful poem written by Katlaughing and adapted to song & performed by Alba. "Waves of Sorrow" ... it haunts. The song "Jacob" however, is another of Alba's which I couldn't stop listening to. Once in a rare while, I find such a song and play it over & over again. It takes me somewhere. A very private place. A spot that I am not likely to share with anyone let alone write about. "Jacob" has the touch of a master in it. Alba's voice is reminiscent of Jeany Redpath's and my wife and I both enjoyed it immensely. I'm the last to know, I suppose. Thanks Alba. |

It's been done by a lot of folks, including Sean Tyrrell. You can listen to a bit of his version, for free, at this site, though I don't like his rendition near as much as Jude's own. |
