Estimated value: $500 million. A jet chartered by Tampa-based Odyssey Marine Exploration landed in the United States recently with hundreds of plastic containers brimming with coins raised from the ocean floor, Odyssey co-chairman Greg Stemm said. Interesting how careful they have learned to be about being close-mouthed; they won't announce the vessel, the details of the coins, or anything else about it, except that they made a major find. Wow. They're doing it right, by all appearances. They will release the coins intot he market over time to prevent too much sag in price; these are colonioal era, uncirculated coins which, reportedly, have survived in excellent condition. A |
