We're probably going to dance in the Holly Bush Garden on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. I'll put posters up with times etc in the Holly Bush pub and the Greig Hall when I get there. If the times don't clash, I hope to make the Mudgather. As always I'm on the look out for musicians who might play for us. Any offers?? Also anyone who wants to, is welcome to come and dance (regadless of whether or not they've danced border morris before) Sue |

11 Jun 07 - 05:06 AM (#2073415) Subject: RE: MudGather Alcester UK Sat 16 Jun 07 From: My guru always said Thanks Malc, Bedworth's another Must!! Still haven't heard back from Alcester (what a lovely laid-back fest it is) re time & place but going on what Marje & I discussed we'll be trying for Saturday tea-time in one of the rooms above the Sports Hall (new venue I think). That's to the left of the Greig Hall as far as I can remember from our discussion. Have got lots to do this week before Alcester (Sister arriving from USA, stitches out, Big Brother's funeral and will probably attempt replacing my Hard Drive again tomorrow) so may not get the details on here before we set off for the Fest. So keep the loose arrangements shown above in mind please. I'll try to get the time & place onto posters which I'll put at the campsite arrivals, Greig Hall and the pub with the beer festival - the pub name escapes me, can't imagine why! Anyway, Mudgather format (as long as we can all get together in the same place & time) will be Meet, Sing, Laugh, Drink (pretty sure Marge said there's a bar downstairs), Chocolate & MudRaffle - oh, and lots of hugging but no hand-shaking for me please!! |

Did meet up with Nine Penny Marl which was nice. Had to take yet another brand new tent back to the shop on Monday, this time due to exsessive condensation. The first tent I took back was after Chippenham, brand new again and let in water. What's going on? Is it really not possible to buy a good tent for £100 these days? Discuss? 19 Jun 07 - 07:59 AM (#2080919) Subject: RE: MudGather Alcester UK Sat 16 Jun 07 From: GUEST,Noreen Stewart and I enjoyed it too, Hils, thanks, particularly being outdoors on the lovely day that it was (before the rain came, anyway). I had a Crunchie one! Was lovely to see hear everyone, some I have not heard sing for a long time. We also had a nice sing in one of the back rooms of the Holly Bush earlier, which is still a lovely venue even though the "beer festival" beers were disappointing and more expensive than the beers at the bar. The Black Sheep at the bar was as good as ever, though Stewart preferred the Pig :0) |
