No sooner had I posted that thread when our beloved Bandmaster came into my place of employ and confirmed that indeed this Saturday 2nd June will see the monthly session.

Lo' there - tis true it's on again this weekend, the 1st Saturday with FILO Folk. It will probably be a waste of time coming as it will only be another good night, as usual.
PS. Chuck the landlord (no, not an instruction, that's his name)has just stopped smoking so bring a 'flak-jacket'

Lang may yer lum reek!

See - 'the One' has got on the band wagon as well with his/her disparaging remarks and left me speechless-for once! (see previous e-mail) I'll have you know, if my mother had run faster I could have been English!

Perish the Thought!

See, I knew I was correct in refering to our beloved leader as a Bandmaster, he himself even refers to his favourite mode of transport!!

To the gentleman(sic!) with the large 'eyebrow' that is scared of heights. Please note, the word 'trundle' is not far removed from the word 'tumbrel' where wance a upon a time people lost the heid - in mair ways than wan, a la guillottene! But, tae show ye the haund o' peace, if yer that 'Board' come and see the FILO, a story of country folk,on Setterday night, and show us the wisdom aff yer ways and bring the Board gang wi ye.

Up ye goonie wi' a blaw lamp!

I think that may be a vague threat, despite the use of the phrase "haund o peace". Would someone be kind enough to translate into Queens English, the language that should be spoken by our conquered territories. I'll pack me Claymour for Saturday at the FILO just in case !!

Come to think of it I'll try to get the gang from the board to come, I've heard the story about Scotsmen setting traps for unsuspecting armies by letting on they only of half the number of soldiers they actually have.

Sorry, will not be there this month. Will be at a naval reunion in Plymouth. I'll most likely not be able to play an instrument and sing after four hours with all me old mates.
