03 Jun 07 - 04:28 PM (#2067523) Subject: WHAT!!! No Vin Garbutt? From: GUEST,Rob Henderson Just seen how to do the blue clicky links, so gonna post the website on here. www.wotnovin.com Pancrack pictures have also asked a mate of mine for my phone number so they can have a word with me about this for a documentary they are making about Vin Garbutt :0 Makes me think that if it makes enough noise, it may even make Cambridge Folk festival organisers drop the whole politically correct image and actually book a real folk singer :) Thanks to people who are looking at the site and thnx for the post on guestbook :) |

03 Jun 07 - 05:03 PM (#2067558) Subject: RE: WHAT!!! No Vin Garbutt? From: GUEST,Rob Henderson Are you asking if we can all do a Rocky Horror Picture Show dance or are you commenting on the Deja vue from last year when a similar post was made by myself? Cos if its the latter, lots of people keep throwing ideas and saying they'll buy t-shirts for the campaign, they'll get me a website, they'll put it in the newspaper, etc, etc. I don't want to let all these people down, so i'm trying to make some noise about it. |

From: Baggins 360 Skipy I do hope your taking the p***, But just in case your not Vin Garbutt is probably the most loved Artist on World Wide Folk Scene at the moment and has been for a number of years. He can fill a hall quicker than Avon floodwater. I am not on my own in thinking Cambridge should just be advertised as a Music Festival leave out the Folk I mean after all thats what they've been doing for years now. |

Still, at least he was the first gig I booked at Clennell Hall! Bob Fox at clennell Hall Folk Fest 2008! HERE! (wish I could afford a ticket for Cambridge!) :) |

26 Jul 07 - 09:10 AM (#2111698) Subject: RE: WHAT!!! No Vin Garbutt? From: Tim theTwangler I have heard of him, Never had pleasure of hearing him for myself, always plays to a full house, including at Staithes this year. One day will get in there and who knows could be another admiring fan for the Mighty one. I have heard loads of his songs covered by others and they are good listening. |
27 Jul 07 - 07:46 PM (#2113008) Subject: RE: WHAT!!! No Vin Garbutt? From: Forsh Of course, he also covers other folk's songs, like 'Down by the Dockyard Wall' which is by Shep Woolley. Like I said, he is now a bit pricy for smaller fests like mine. Shame. |
