I've been in love with you

There is a song in the genre of John Denver from 1973 or so with the lines: longer than there have been stars in the skies I've been in love with you.

But that has nothing to do with the title.

Help me!

Its Dan Fogleberg, not John Denver, and the title is "Longer". Its on the Phoenix album (1979). I'm sure I could come up with the lyrics, but I'm also pretty sure someone else will beat me to it. I'll check back and if they're not here, I'll post them.

Longer words and music by Dan Fogleberg

Longer than there've been fishes in the ocean
Higher thqan any bird ever flew
Longer than ther've been stars up in the heavens
I've been in love with you

Stronger than any mountain cathedral
Truer than any tree ever grew
Deeper than any forest primeval
I am in love with you

I'll bring fire in the winters
You'll send showers in the springs
We'll fly through the falls and summers
With love on our wings

Through the years as the fire starts to mellow
Burning lines in the book of our lives
Though the binding cracks and the pages start to yellow
I'll be in love with you

Longer than theree've been fishes in the ocean
Higher than any bird ever flew
Longer than there've beeen stars up in the heavens
I've been in love with you
I am in love with you

These are from the album notes. I should have opened up the album before I posted the first response.
