Hi Les
I came and bumped into you didnt I??
This was the very first Southwell FF, and I have to say that I found everything very well organised and a joy to share, albeit only for the couple of hours that I had spare time to visit on Saturday. There was excellent signposting to the event, friendly and helpful stewards on the car park gate and helping with parking. The two entertainment marquees, all the refreshments and the craft stalls were all within easy distance of each other on one big field. Unfortunately I had to leave well before the Gate to Southwell Morris sides arrived back on site, but I came away with a real feel good factor, and if anyone knows any of the organisers, could you give them a "well done" from me!! especially for organising the excellent weather!
Lin

Fantaaaaaaaastic evening yet again thanks to Mr Worral..........
All the artists/performers were great but nice to welcome Mary H and Anahata to our backwoods....LOL. Loved her voice but the whole performance was brilliant with songs from Georgian to Victorian times abounding.....super stuff.
Best wishes, Mike.

Thanks for that Mike.

It was indeed a very good night, with great variety. Gwenda & Terry, Steve and Andrew, gave us a very varied set of songs. Enjoyed them all.
Mary Humphreys & Anahata did us proud, with 2 excellent sets. Very enjoyable. Hope they managed to get home safe and didn't get washed away.

Just over 40 people there and I broke even, and bearing in mind that we had floods all over the place caused by horrendous thunderstorms,I can only thank everybody so much for making such a wonderful effort to attend. We are tough up here :-)

Yup! We're home in one piece, without falling asleep at the wheel (sharing the driving helps) nor being washed away. Nearly fell at the last post though: A14 closed at the junction where we turn off only 2 miles from home and ALL the traffic (you'd be surprised how much there is at 2 am) diverted up our slip road, so looong queue there.

Thanks to all for a lovely evening at a well organised club, especially to Les for all the hard work he puts in. After all the worrying about how many would brave the storms and floods, we had a turnout that most folk clubs would be proud of, made some new friends and met some old ones too - a special surprise to see Bill Whaley there. (and don't tell him I said 'old'...)

Anahata

Aye, there's some good stuff happening up in the backwoods - take no notice of what the Gobby Twerp-In-Chief says, she knows sweet Fanny Adams.

And there's some good stuff happening in Texas too - just on me way to watch Houston Astros whack Seattle at baseball (it's a strange game they play over here - a bit like cricket but without the brains and skill).

Sadly, I missed Patty Larkin at the Mucky Duck last night - got dragged out by the boss to a kinda yuppie sushi place. What I really needed what a f***in' great T-Bone! LOL!
