They've already caved on the road being driven through the valley of Tara, and the American troops using Shannon. They seem to have got only promises to make promises in their negotiations with Fianna Fail's wily, experienced politicians. But at least they've got a chance to push green attitudes... |

He really kept that promise well. I'm guessing they'll be kept away frm FFs drive to privatise everything in sight and allowed to make an occasional token gesture towards the environment. |

On the other hand, they may be able to restrain FF and that alone would be better than nothing. They do seem to have received the backing of most of the Green party for this move (which surprised me). Don |

It'll no doubt make things a bit more difficult for Gormley (assuming he was going to do anything about it) but we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'd hate to see the Greens spending the next few years kow-towing to Berti. |

We ought to give them a chance first to see what they come up with. To be honest, I'd rather have them, even if they do prove a bit gutless, in government than the PDs or than a FF-only government. I don't want to see my vote wasted :) |
