From another thread:

CHORDS:

CHORUS:
(C)O, Glory how happy I am, (F)O, Glory how (C)happy I am
(F)My soul's been washed in the (C)blood of the lamb, Glory, (C)hal- le- (C)lu!

(C)I know something that's mighty swell
A sweet little story that I love to tell
(F)Jesus saved my (C)soul from Hell
Glory, (G)hal- le- (C)lu!
(C)When I had no home to claim
I began to call on Jesus' Name
(F)Saved my soul from (C)sin and shame
Glory, (G)hal- le- (C)lu!

Rev. Davis played it in G. You really have to hear his version to get the flavor of it, he didn't always stick to 1st position chords.

You're quite right. It plays much better in G. One problem is the way Davis used his thumb on the low E string to get his chord positions. I've always had trouble with that. Watch him play it on U Tube:
