Mick, really sorry we weren't there,. for some reason or another it's been a while since we checked out the herga website and i've only just spotted it. By this time the second half will just be starting and too late I'm afraid. Hope the gig went well, hope you're well, love, Moira and Malc

Just arrived home (2.30am). Journey home was horrendous but I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It was a delight to get to a folk club again and of course I always enjoy Mick's singing and playing. Herga was as friendly as ever and the new venue is a serious improvement on the Royal Oak. Highly recommended.

It's renewed my zeal for folk clubs.

I'm so-o-o-o-o-o-o-o jealous. Wish I'd been there, I'd have lent Mick my capo.

GS - no 13 Florins this time - I did it the last couple of times I saw Mike Sparks and I can't keep singing him his own song (and Breezy sorry no Joshua either, though your agent - some Papavgeris bloke or other - did put your request in!).

It was good to see so many of my old friends again and the new venue (after so many years in The Royal Oak, with only brief excursions away) is definitely a step up. Great singing from Herga as usual, though I could have done with that capo BW, I had some very sticky fingers last night (I don't wish to know that!).

Malc and Moira sorry not to see you, but I know how hard is to find and excuse! Hope to run into you sometime during the summer; I sorely miss Moira's singing and the strange allure of Malcolm's flights of fancy (ah those late nights at Sidmouth!).

Thanks again to Herga for inviting me.

Mick

We are hoping that Mick (and many other Herga exiles) will be back on 9 July for the "remembering Ron Barnett" night. Only happy songs allowed.....
