Does anyone know of any folk evenings near Keswick or Penrith between 7th and 13th July 200?

Haven't checked through to find your dates, but the place to find info on folk events in Cumbria is www.mostlyacousticcumbria.co.uk and if you look under venues, gigs or jam sessions you should be able to find something.

Furness Tradition festival is in the period you're looking at, but that's at Ulverston in the south of county, so may not be of interest.

Twa Dogs has a session every other Sunday afternoon - early evening - so I was told today by Twa Dogs staff and this Sunday 24 June is one so to speak

Guest, Sue Allan - your link doesn't work I'm afraid. You need to put http:// in front of it...
But there's nowt listed on the site when you do get onto it, apart from the bigger events / festivals.
I've lost count of the number of times I've searched in vain for anything going on sess/singaround-wise in that part of the Lake District.
Best policy is probably to tire yourself out fellwalking during the day instead? Or stay out on the hill longer into the evening....

Cheers.
we'll check out the Twa Dogs in Keswick anyway while we're there.
We can cycle there in the evening from our campsite.

To Guest.

I think you will find this link will work.

To find out what you seem to be looking for, select "Jam Nights" from the menu on the left.

There is a list, but I found it pretty disappointing. There was one I was interested in in Kendal when I was over there earlier this week, but there were no contact details, so I didn't end up going.
