I am dead serious. I am listening as is my want ??wont?? on Saturday afternoons at work to Scandinavian hour...and the music is just so pretty. Other music does not sound so pretty to me..even the Irish and Scottish with which I am more familiar...oh now they are playing the Schottische that is the same tune as Thunder Road...sometimes other music has so much ornementation I guess..that you can't pick out the melody...I don't know what it is but I am so fond of it I might start dancing around my office...mg

Most of the Scandinavian tunes I know are dance tunes, and dance tunes are meant to be pretty. I also think part of the reason could be that Scandinavian tunes are outside the ordinary conventions we're used to - interesting tempos and intervals.

I don't know about the tempo..they all seem to go oom pa pa to me..but maybe that is why I like them. mg

Well here's some Swedish music that isn't exactly oom pa pa - but it's pretty all right. Lovely stuff.

And here's another vid - which I think is also Swedish. I just love it.

I am especially fond of the Swedish fiddle walking music. mg
