26 Jun 07 - 06:50 PM (#2087796) Subject: Possible new Folk Venue, Henley-on Thame From: bubblyrat The Landlord and Landlady of the "Horse and Groom", New Street, Henley -on-Thames, have expressed an interest in having a regular folk-club or "session".The back bar is small but cosy, and there is a recently rebuilt beer-garden/terrace outside, complete with dance area, and stage area that can be covered in -----The whole thing is a bit like the outside area at the "Old Tom " in Oxford. There will be a gathering of local Morris sides there ( Horse & Groom !) on, I think, July 17th, which I will confirm to anyone interested. Parking in Henley is a NIGHTMARE, but luckily the pub is only 2- 3 minutes walk from the ( massive) Waitrose car-park ( Free after 1800 ).The beer is Greene King , but Hey !--They serve Scrumpy Jack as well ! Would anyone be interested ?? Applications from persons called Silver, McKinnon,Wilson or Papavgeris especially welcome !!! Cheers! Signor Tottov |
