BS: Maya Angelou's Thoughts For Women

For the sake of brevity this is a partial list. Gals, what would you add?

Fellows: What are your thoughts on what a man should have and what a man should know?

      THOUGHTS OF MAYA ANGELOU

      A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move
out and rent a place of her own even if she         never wants to or needs to...

      A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a       black lace bra...

      A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
one friend who always makes her laugh...             and one who lets her cry...

      EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to fall in love without losing herself..
      EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK               AWAY...

That last one is a "killer!" It should be taught in High School.

I'd add some more tools to the list. And paint them all pink. Padlock on MOM'S toolbox.

Everywoman should know that what is in her best interest is in the best interest of her family because a happy mother has happy children.

Everywoman should know that it is not so important that you are madly in love with him. What really counts, in the long run, is that he loves you and wants to make you happy.

Everywoman should know that you have to train him right.

Everywoman should know that its important to have a trade or an education because you may end up taking care of the kids alone.

Everywoman should know that its important that he knows how to make you laugh.

Every woman should know that only she herself can 'make' herself happy.
Never try to lay 'happiness' on someone else.

Every woman should know and be able to implement that having children is optional.

Every woman should know that just having a man is not the be all and end all of life.

Every woman should know that it is very very OK to like and even LOVE other women regardless of 'sexual preference'.

And dammitall, EVERYBODY should know how to cook!!!! Even the dogs should know how to cook! (grin....)

Every woman should know that staying with a violent partner is never worth it.

Every woman should know that sex is all very fine, but it's not like the real thing.

PMB, Can you elucidate? Good sex is part of the love ratio in my book. It's the icing on a great cake! Atleast that's the way I remember it. It's been a long dry season here. I'm a widow who has great memories though.
