03 Jul 07 - 10:10 PM (#2093570) Subject: RE: Kristofferson - song origins & tunes From: Sorcha Oh, so it's not really 'origins' then? Cause I was under the impression that he wrote most of them which makes the Origins pretty clear. |
05 Jul 07 - 03:03 PM (#2094922) Subject: RE: Krishttp://mudtofferson - song origins & tunes From: GUEST,jay no need to be a smartass, by ear or by dots. it costs money to get that sheet music, and some people don't have the ear for it. You ever think of that. |
05 Jul 07 - 08:59 PM (#2095192) Subject: RE: Kristofferson - song origins & tunes From: Joe Offer Be careful not to read animosity where there isn't any, Jay. Can you tell us whether Merle wants to learn the song from a recording (by ear), or from musical notation (dots), or from tablature? Seems Kat has a legitimate question. If anyone has lyrics and chords, please post them here, also. -Joe Offer- |
06 Jul 07 - 06:16 AM (#2095466) Subject: RE: Kristofferson - song origins & tunes From: cetmst "The Songs of Kris Kristofferson" published by Chappell Music Company and distributed by Harper and Row has lyrics, melody, harmony and chords for 54 songs including the two mentioned, all apparently written by him. There is no date on the book but individual songs are copyright 1965 to 1972 and the price for the paperback edition was $6.95. |
06 Jul 07 - 10:26 PM (#2096110) Subject: RE: Kristofferson - song origins & tunes From: GUEST,blue $6.95 That doesn't seem to be much for sheet music to his songs. Especially for 54 of them. That's a really great deal, it's practically a steal. I'd go for that.

06 Jul 07 - 10:37 PM (#2096113) Subject: RE: Kristofferson - song origins & tunes From: Joe Offer Well, that was $6.95 in 1972....but Bookfinder.com [ “Songs of Kris Kristofferson”] says you can get a used copy for about twelve bucks nowadays. -Joe- |
06 Jul 07 - 11:24 PM (#2096128) Subject: RE: Kristofferson - song origins & tunes From: katlaughing It was a legitimate question, Joe, thanks. If by ear, I am sure sound files could be found online, but who would bother for someone who takes offence so easily. |
