From: Bill D I am not sure why, when folks see a discussion group like this, they DO assume that there is some magic genie who digs out answers and sends emails....Many folks do not wish to contact strangers with their private email, even for so innocuous a task. Besides, if the answer is interesting, many others might like to hear about it also.... |

07 Jul 07 - 01:29 PM (#2096426) Subject: Lyr Add: THE SANDS OF TARA'S SHORE From: Peace The only song I can locate with "I am standing by the water" in it is THE SANDS OF TARA'S SHORE (Pat Cunningham, John O'Kane) John Mock Acoustic Guitar, Whistle & Bodhran Randy Howard Fiddle & Mandolin Dennis Crouch Double Bass Wes Hightower Backing Vocals There's a full moon in the heavens shining on the sea There's a slow boat on the water moving in the breeze There's a ship out in the distance following the stars In my memory I see you on the sands of Tara's shore When I left you I was crying, you kissed away the tears And we made a promise, some day we'd build our future there But the years have come between us, we can't go back, I know Still in my heart you're with me on the sands of Tara's shore On the sands of Tara's shore I'll walk with you Hand in hand, in love once more so young so true In the warm and tender light I'll lie with you Where the wild wild oceans roar On the sands of Tara's shore In the city of New Orleans on a blue mid-summer day I am standing by the water as the tide turns round again And I'm thinking 'bout the promise we made so long ago And I'm longing for the day on the sands of Tara's shore On the sands ... The thread originator lives in California and he's on the other end of the political spectrum from me. So I'd rather not send an e-mail. I had suggested that the lines he quoted are paraphrased because they do not scan as lines in songs usually do. So, unless he visits again I am stumped. |

From: wysiwyg I have an email account that's so open you could drive an ice truck through it, that I use for these. So below is what I sent. (I keep a copy for future re-use the next time around.) ~S~ === Hi, I'm writing about your Mudcat request. Requests are always answered in the forum, usually in the thread where you posted your request. Sometimes answers come quickly, or sometimes they come (or are added to) years later. However, having been burned once before, well, I seldom if ever send e-mails to people I don't know. Especially from a public forum. Thank you for taking care of that, WYS. |

It's not a big deal to do it if you have a dummy email address you can send from. Just don't use your private one. Or send it and then block-sender for that email addy, or whatever. ~S~ |
