Buffy Sainte-Marie

I saw Buffy at the Clearwater Folk Festival and was just blown away by her terrific performance. I think she is one of the those people from decades ago who has only gotten better with time, so vibrant it was hard to believe she is over sixty. I am trying to find out if she's appearing locally - I thought I had seen a July listing somewhere on a googled website, but alas, can't find it again.

She seems like she would take requests from the audience, there was an underplayed gem called The Dream Tree from an old album of hers that I'd love to hear her sing again.

Hard to believe I'm over sixty too - well, okay, I'm NOT over sixty, but I sure look it -

Let me rephrase that: Hard to believe I'm NOT over sixty ...

Sorry. Yeah, Buffy, she's great. And she just keeps at it ...

She really is a beautiful lady too, she's kept her figure and her energy. I'd love to say that I'd hope to look that way when I'm sixty, but..ah..I don't even look that good now :_)

Quite the legacy.
This girl probably has Buffy to thank, one way or another and is a tremendous talent.

She was always one of the great singers from the 60's & who for some reason never achieved the fame & exposure she so deserved, maybe because of her politics. She's one that I would not miss if she were in my driving range, a legend as far as I'm concerned. My 4 icons from those days would be Baez, Donovan, Buffy & Dylan, in that order.

My "initiation" to folk music in the 60s was a friend giving me a Carolyn Hester LP. Carolyn is still an all time favorite, along with Molly Scott, Ochs, Dylan, and Oscar Brand.
I do agree with you that Buffy has aged beautifully, and her voice is still wonderful.

"never achieved the fame & exposure she so deserved" -

Seems to me she got quite a bit of fame and exposure. As much as she deserved? Well, not very many got as much as they deserved ... while, of course, some got far more than they deserved. I think her politics were probably good for marketing, really. Not that that's what they were about, but I doubt they hurt her career.
