walking/real ale/folk session required

I'm looking for some help from the UK folk community:

My brother and I want to go for a couple of days walking in North Yorkshire where we can stay for one night in a pub/inn that serves good ales and is within striking distance of a folk type session/singaround that we could join.

The dates would probably be between 10th to 17th August so that rules out Whitby folk week. Any ideas?

Roger

Roger, if you are within striking distance of Flaxton (nr Sheriff Hutton) on the Wednesday you'd be very welcome to come and have a sing and a play.
