Does anyone one know what type of pickup or microphone is used inside the wooden acoustic stomboxes such as the ones made by Ellis Guitars in australia? stevethesqueeze

Dunno but the one Jon Boden uses is an AudioTechnica ATM-87R boundary mic.

Yes, I think any pedal operated drums.
It's a condensor thingie that's supposed to dampen unwanted noise.
But not feet. Apparently.

Are these miked boxes anything like the ones the Flamenco groups now use for percussion?

theres at least a couple of ebay sellers regularly flogging
'blues' stompboards..
for about 20 to 40 quid..

i'm to mean to buy one..

cuz i reckon a few planks of hard wood and screws

and a cheap pair of reasonable quality belcat contact piezo pickups

would do the job just fine..

That must be the kind of thing Chris Smither and Dr Stomp use. Seems to be catching on.
