Review: Bob Davenport's Topic albums

I have three vinyl records by Bob Davenport, all of which are unavailable and which have been so for some time. They are "Down The long Road", "Postcards Home", and "1977", all or which are excellent. Why does not Topic re-release these albums on CD?

Economics.
Market research indicates, presumably, indicate that Topic would be unlikely to recoup the initial outlay involved in remastering and CD pressing.
(Though I wouldn't rule out future download releases).
Meanwhile, The Red Haired Lad and The Common Stone are out here on CD.

I'd add "The Dalesman's Litany" as another recommended LP by Bob Davenport.

Dave Burland recorded an LP (yet another of the Lost Leaders) with the title The Dalesman's Litany. But as far as I can recall. Bob Davenport has never recorded the song. It's not on his own Lost Leaders with the Boldon Banjos or the Marsden Rattlers.

Sorry, that was slip of the brain. I meant Dave Burland. That's what comes of typing one name while listening to the other!

Thank you for that explanation Ms Easby. However, it is a sad state of affairs in this country when one of England's finest artist should be aloud to lanquish in obscurity instead of being treated like a national treasure.

Surely not Dave B David Bulmer?

And Bob Dylan is American - and not even folk!

Please read the thread before you comment - it was abaut Bob Davenport and Dave Burland. Besides, the comment about the "national treasure" was 13 years ago; it's unlikely that the original poster will read your question by now.

Funny how the technology has moved on. I can remember paying forty quid to get one demo song put on cd. Nowadays anyone could do it - if they wanted. people just download stuff.
