17 Apr 99 - 06:38 PM (#71631) Subject: Aunt Sue (Pete Sutherland) - tune?? From: Joe Offer I was looking through the database in connection with the "songs about singers" thread, and I came across the lyrics for Pete Sutherland's AUNT SUE (click, please). It sounds like it would be a wonderful song to learn. Can anybody post the tune, or do you know where I could find a (CD) recording of the song? I know it's on Pete's Flying Fish cassette, "Poor Man's Dream," but I save my money for CDs. -Joe Offer- |

It's a beautiful melody played at a lively rhythm. Hope somebody else can help. I saw and admired Pete (and Karen's) performances at the Champlain Valley Folk Festival. What an accomplished fiddler and singer he is! |

21 Nov 11 - 05:56 PM (#3261159) Subject: RE: Tune Req: Aunt Sue (Pete Sutherland) From: Artful Codger There's a delightfully bizarre little song called "Aunt Sue's Ant Soup," recorded by The Blenders (at the time, a mostly-a cappella group) on their album From the Mouth. Not the same song as Sutherland's, of course; this one was written by P. Dunkirk and The Blenders. Just thought I'd toss that in. |
