There are some other folks on another forum wondering the same thing.
I would say I have heard as good or better from our own Justa Picker and Rick Fielding, BUT this guy is good. Here are a couple of links:

Flatpicking on youtube;

here's one of his lefthand while flatpicking bluegrass.

One more, Lakes of Ponchartrain

Here's an old link to one of Justa Picker's out takes. More samples on his website.

Thanks for the reply Kat. The song that got me was his version of Ramblin Boy. I will check out the links you posted.
Thanks, Mcpiper.

You are most welcome. I just looked for Ramblin Boy by fretkiller and couldn't find it on youtube, though I could swear I saw it last night. I'll post a link if I find it.

All the best,

kat

Hi Kat, try a search on youtube for ramblin boy. For some reason the fretkiller search does not come up with ramblin boy, just the other stuff.
We were thinking of doing this song but after this we heard this version, changed our minds about it.
Cheers, Mcpiper.

Unusual to have the camera concentrate on the plectrum hand. Probably more useful actually to someone who is trying to work out how to play like that. Rather like with a fiddler - it's what the right hand is doing that really makes the difference, once you've got the basics.

Actually, let me rephrase that: ABSOLUTELY Bee-You-Tee-Full version!!

HERE is Tom Paxton and Pete Seeger doing it in 1965.

Due to the fact Fret killer does not want any ads on his videos tells me he is not interested in the money or money to be made. Maybe he doesn't need money. Some people do things to buck the establishment. I'm glad he does it this way. kind of the voice of the people. And that really is what the Internet is suppose to be. The voice and words of the people. That's how it started. Sure there's money to be made. But in reality it is us who speak it and show it. Whether Fret Killer is actually doing the video himself or not, that we may never know. I guess that is his message. Plus he sings and plays a great song. If indeed he is, or maybe it's all a mystery. Could be someone else singing or if it is someone else, what would it matter, in the media not all is as it seems. And that is the great mystery!
