A good lot of Dubliners stuff is bad but Ronnie Drew has a great voice....See whenever I'm rich and famous (and pigs are gettng flight-path instructions from airport watch towers) then you'll know I was right. You'll be saying " See that group 'Snog The Rock'..eye the one that won all them awards...I use to know one'na them guy's.. eye..the talented one that sings and plays flute & whistle...DUCK, THERE'S A FLYING PIG.....sorry ...gotta bit carried away there. I'll take it on the chin brother !!!! Corries, Dubliners & Clancy Bros all have one thing in common..they were successful..and reguardless to the quality of the materail or musical ability it appealed to a lot of people..'from little acorns grow mighty things' Maybe now when your a long way down the road you look back and say ..that was crap..but I suppose in some strange way it fed all our intrests at the time, and started us all off on that road...But I think when you consider them against modern groups such as Four Men and A Dog..Patrick Street, or even going back to Planxty & the Both Band etc there is no comparrison..... ...... Here ends this Thrusday nights contemplations. I'm away for a tune and a song...
