Little uncertain why this link has been posted. The festival at Paimpol took place in early August and won't happen again until 2009.

We couldn't get there this year but hope to make it next time and catch up with friends 'Les Souilles de fond de cales' who rgularly sing there it being their 'local'

Just thought it might be of interest to someone. Most of the discussions of sea-shantys on this site deal with British or American forms.

Not so - when I was with Calennig, we did the Ouessant Festival, the Douarnenez Festival and the Brest Festival three times, all to do with tall ships and the songs of the sea. The Breton organisers really knew how to put on a good spectacle! I missed Paimpol, but I'm going in 2009.
