10 Sep 07 - 10:03 AM (#2145417) Subject: Martin Guitars - at Costco? From: Wesley S Hmmmm.......Costco offering D-28's and D15's?? I can understand them offering the Taylor guitars they have on this site. Taylor guitars and Costco seem like a match made in heaven. But Martin's? Say it ain't so CF. And they'll be setup by - who? NFI of course. Costco's D-28 |

10 Sep 07 - 10:27 AM (#2145433) Subject: RE: Martin Guitars - at Costco? From: John MacKenzie Well it says that they're not an accredited Martin Dealer. I seem to remember that Martin's guarantee doesn't apply in the UK either no matter where you buy it. I can't find the paperwork I got with mine, but I'm pretty sure that is the case. Giok |

Martin D-28's are initially setup with high action .... purpose intended for the customer to have it reset to their choice at time of procurement by the 'guitar shop'.... setting it lower is less effort than otherwise ... think the clerks at Costgo can handle this? biLL |

10 Sep 07 - 11:48 AM (#2145513) Subject: RE: Martin Guitars - at Costco? From: Bee-dubya-ell Without the warranty, Costco is essentially not selling a new Martin. They're selling a used Martin in mint condition. If they're going to do so, their price needs to be way less than $2049.99. You can negotiate that price or better for a new D-28 from most authorized dealers anyway. Of course, I guess a soccer mom wanting to surprise Hubby with a nice new guitar for his birthday isn't going to know that. |
