As far as I know, June Tabor has never recorded my song "Icarus". There is a persistent myth around though that says she has - if so, I've never seen or heard a copy of it! Nor have I ever heard her singing it, although I've been told she has done. There are numerous artists out there who have recorded it, however, including Maggie Holland, Robin Laing, Gerry Hallom and Martin Simpson, and Martin was performing it (I believe) while he was still gigging with June. Which might explain some of the confusion. Among others who have certainly performed it (but not necessarily recorded it) are Archie Fisher and Garnet Rogers. Always happy to hear of more, though ... I was ratting for something else last night, and found a broadsheet of Icarus with my other music books. I noticed Anne had written it. It took me back to PERFORM meetings, which Anne also attended. I guess I must have had the broadsheet from Anne. We once had a meeting at St Martin In The Fields. I wonder if it was from that day? Hi Anne. I was the lunatic who jumped out of the plane to raise money for PERFORM in '84. I now share the house with an osteopath's practise. There is a direct connection between these two facts. Done boring.
