22 Sep 07 - 06:30 AM (#2154822) Subject: RE: I can't afford to drink !!!!??? From: Mooh You don't see a future in it? Neither did I. It'll soon be 6 years dry for me. I've got enough problems without a drinking problem to compound things. Just stop if you can. At least reduce, you'll be better for it. Good luck. Peace, Mooh. |

From: John MacKenzie Well I must admit I have cut down a lot recently, but I can't imagine life without the occasional drink. If I ever each the stage of my old friend Peter, who was pathologically incapable of putting the cork back in a bottle , I will give it up totally. Slainthe Giok |

22 Sep 07 - 01:50 PM (#2155008) Subject: RE: I can't afford to drink !!!!??? From: Little Hawk If all the booze in the world disappeared....I wouldn't blink an eye. Same goes for all the televisions and soft drinks and casinos and bags of overly salty chips and all the pizzas and all the pro sports leagues too. I would't miss any of them if they were gone. What I do miss is good looking shoes. Nobody sells good looking shoes anymore...they all look like something from a "Sonic the Hedgehog" videogame. Still, I can relate to your problem, punkfolkrocker. Aging is a very troublesome matter. You're worried about being "nearly 50"??? Hell, man, I am nearly 60. |

22 Sep 07 - 08:25 PM (#2155337) Subject: RE: I can't afford to drink !!!!??? From: Charley Noble I sure would regret the lose of good drinking songs! Words & music by Lou and Peter Barryman © From singing of Deb Sawyer Portland Observatory 1990 Are You Drinking with Me, Jesus? While you nestle by my bar stool, Making me so calm within? Do you warm me with your presence, Or have I warmed myself with sin? Chorus: Are you drinking with me, Jesus? I can't see you very clear; If you're drinking with me, Jesus, Won't you buy a friend a beer. If you're omnipresent, Jesus, You don't have to use the phone; If you're always by my side, Lord, You need never drink alone... Do you teeter with me, Jesus, On my way home so forlorn? If you think that you feel bad now, Just wait until tomorrow morn... Does your head pound with the masses, As hung over you do rive? What does Heaven look like, Jesus, Seen through holy bloodshot eyes? Should we take a taxi, Jesus, Or should we walk from here? I know you can walk on water, But can you walk on this much beer? Chorus:(2X) Are you drinking with me, Jesus? I can't see you very clear; If you're drinking with me, Jesus, Won't you buy a friend a beer. Cheerily, Charley Noble |
