BS: Joe Clone

That was a foul and you know it.

I was once assured that ideology would not play into the post editing around here. Yeah, right.

Maybe you can let us in on what you are talking about.

Please do.

I imagine he refers to part of the Sick children's health thread going missing. John, I will be very surprised to have that be a policy action. Have you tried PMing them?

No. I won't let anyone else in on what I'm talking about. It's just that I can't (obviously) deal with this via PM because I don't know which Joe Clone chose to do the edit. I assumed this was the only way I might get an explanation -- as it's up to the one who altered the thread anonymously to PM me. I obviously cannot PM them. Then they can delete this thread.

Or, they could just delete this thread anyway. Nobody owes me anything here.

Wasn't me, John. I just got home after being gone several hours.

They can delete the thread but they can't make it go away.

If you have an issue with a Clone action, I'd suggest emailing Joe Offer. His address is in the FAQ.

Perhaps someone hit a button by mistake. I'm sure once that oerson is aware, he or she will restore the post that bit the biscuit.

What is it you are so mad about John?

Real funny.

Why don't you PM me instead of screwing with me?

Sounds to me that you'd rather be mad than to ask what happened, John.

My father and one of my brothers were somehat like that.

One time I decided that my parents' kitchen needed painting so I went downtown to the small town hardware store and picked up a couple of cans of paint.

When it came time to paint the wall, the paint had so much 'tack' it wouldn't spread. So I took the cans back and told the owner my problem. He wasn't particularly nice about it - because he was p-Offed about it - but he told me he would notify his supplier. He refunded my money.

I went back to my folks' house and in the course of telling my brother and my dad about the paint, they both spouted off, saying they would never shop there again (Not that they ever had, most likely), and that I shouldn't have taken it back to the store. "People like that," they said, "just try to get away with things."

My point: I would rather assume that the owner would want to know so he could make it right.

John,

Send a message to Joe. He'll get things straightened out.

"Sounds to me that you'd rather be mad than to ask what happened, John."

Well, that shows how little you think of me and how sure you are that you know me. Which was, in no small part the problem now, wasn't it?

John, how about just speak your bitch or go away? I 'gather' that a DUPLICATE post was deleted from the Health thread. Is THAT what you are being so pissy about?

And no, YOU took it Public so I won't PM you.

Yes, PM Joe and stop moaning. This is NOT the end of the world as we know it.

Obviously that's not what I'm "being so pissy about".

If I don't know which Joe Clone it was, how would you have suggested I PM them?

Nevermind.

The suggestion is that you PM Joe Offer. Put it in his lap.

By the way, it just occurred to me that one of my own deathless bits of prose was also deleted. gasp!

Just PM the mother of all clones and I'm sure he will attend to your problem.

Gee, I'm sorry, John. I was busy working on music threads.
Seems to me it was just a simple misunderstanding, and the Clone deleted what appeared to be a couple of duplicate messages. If you have a problem with editing, send me a personal message and I'll sort it out.

I really ought to close this thread. We're open to discussion of editing, but it's much easier to do it privately and directly - much less chance of misunderstandings and misinformation.
