I was listening to a programme on the radio this evening about the amount of time men think about women in the course of a day. It was staggering, men between 18 - 23 spent 4 hours a day thinking about women. Men between 23 and 40 spend 2 - 3 hours a day, and men over 40 were the worst, 4 1/2 - 5 hours a day ! Seems as we get older the worse we get. |

There is a reason that older guys spend so much time thinkin' about 'um and that is that when we were younger we figurated that we had a long time to get them figured out and then we weren't so young anymore and so we figurated that we better get to work while we still could and thus... ...4 1/2 hours a day!!! From: Little Hawk How much time people spend thinking about sex can depend on a lot of other factors....such as their age, the general situation around them, their family life, how busy they are with other matters (like work or survival), and so on, and so on. If you have a lot of spare time on your hands, you are more likely to think about sex, right? If you're a teenager who is longing to investigate the mysteries of the opposite gender, then you will probably spend a huge amount of time thinking about either sex or romance or both. I know I did. If you've been married for 25 years and you're busy with a career then you'll probably think about it a lot less...depending on the career, of course! (Hugh Hefner probably almost never stops thinking about sex...is he still alive?) What people are really driven to thinking about all that stuff for is the need to somehow to fill that sense of emptiness that keeps gnawing at them. They try and they try to fill it with sex, food, activities, entertainment, gossip, vendettas, arguing on internet forums, being obsessive about their dogs, their kids, their hairdo or whatever....but they never really succeed in filling the emptiness that drives them. And that, my friends, is what makes capitalism function so effectively. Absolutely deadly. ;-) And it's why advertisers use sex as much as they can to sell stuff too. It's true that men, on average, think more about sex in a sort of general literal way...but I think women, on average, think more about romance and relationship in a more specifically personal way, focusing on particular people they're hypothetically interested in...so there's the balance. And an awful lot of women love being matchmakers for other people. Very few men could be bothered doing that or would even think about it. |

Second Guess: GUEST,Richard Taylor is one of those "nut cases" who recognized they were talking about "sex" and has been brainwashed to believe that anything relating to "sex" is immoral, obscene, and a waste of time. Fortunately for GUEST,Richard Taylor, he's posted here for about a year, and has about 30 legitimate (mostly) comments on serious subjects, so it's with considerable "relief" that I can conclude1 that he's(?) a "regular sort of guy" who's just a little clumsy at trying to be "funny." 1 And I hope I can conclude that he's been around long enough to see that I'm just "yanking his chain" to see if he'll bark. My own observation would be that any man who doesn't think about women (and about sex) at least a good part of each day likely doesn't have a good sense of what's important to his own survival. I think the hours quoted are somewhat inflated, however, since there's little evidence that the "average man" thinks at all for as much as four hours per day. The site appears to be one of the "server sites" where pictures loaded to other places actually live - called as need by links on the "real" home site: http://cache.viewimages.com/xc/3367310.jpg?...[bunchaotherstuff] It's a "beta" site by Getty Images. Lots of news media use lots of Getty images. Anyone with a login on a site having a contract with Getty to link to their stuff probably gets in, and those who don't may get bounced on a link. A login with a Reuters/New York Times/AP or other network newsrag might be sufficient, even if you've just got an old stale cookie. You can go directly to the site and browse, but I didn't see much I was interested in. (Its onsite search engine didn't find the image linked by its file name.) Images someone has contracted to use may be sequestered to limit access to people who come from the buyer site. (You guys and gals do look to see where a link goes before you click, don't you?)
